Robin Deterding is a tenured professor of pulmonary medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and Children’s Hospital Colorado. She completed her medical training and residency in pediatrics and internal medicine at Southern Illinois University and completed pediatric pulmonary fellowship training at the University of Colorado. She is recognized as an international expert in the care of children with rare interstitial and diffuse lung disease, with research interests in biomarkers, proteomics, and defining clinical phenotypes.
She has defined new lung diseases, founded a family organization the Children’s Interstitial Lung Disease (chILD) Foundation and physicians chILD Research Network, and cares for patients from around the world with complex lung disease. She is an editor of two top selling textbooks and has authored numerous peer reviewed publications, secured grant funding, and created educational materials. She has had the privilege of leading national organizations and has been honored by her peers to consistently be recognized as one of Denver’s Top Docs (5280 Magazine) and one of the Best Doctors in America. Her common focus is on developing innovative strategies and systems to improve care and find cures for children in Colorado and around world.
