First-time presenter, Matt Might, Ph.D., Calls GoldLab Symposium a Highlight of His Year

Presenting at the GoldLab Symposium was one of the highlights of my year. The presenters and attendees are not only passionate but also dangerously smart. I emerged with more opportunities to measurably advance understanding and treatment of my son’s disorder (NGLY1 deficiency) in two days than I had encountered in all of the prior year. It will take months to follow up on all of them. Bringing this group together with a mandate to shake things up creates a truly unique event—an event that I’m going to look forward to returning to every year. The GoldLab Symposium is a unique forum for bringing bright minds to bear on to hard and important problems and illuminating emerging and future opportunities. Larry has created something truly special here.

Matt Might, Ph.D., is an active advisor to the newly established Undiagnosed Disease Network Coordinating Center at Harvard University. He is passionate about patient-driven precision medicine, accelerating drug development in rare disease, and bending the cost curve in medical research with computation and social media. Outside of medicine, Might is an associate professor in the School of Computing at the University of Utah. Might’s 2015 GoldLab presentation was entitled, “One of a Kind: What Do You Do When You’re the First?”
